Setting Boundaries in an Embroidery Business: Why It Matters More Than You Think
Running an embroidery business is often fueled by passion. I love creating meaningful pieces, celebrating milestones, and bringing our customers’ ideas to life—one stitch at a time. But when the business is built on creativity and personal connection, it can be easy for boundaries to blur.
Setting clear boundaries isn’t about being unkind or inflexible. It’s about protecting my time, my creativity, and the quality of work i provide.
Why Boundaries Are Essential
Without boundaries, small business owners often experience burnout, frustration, and rushed work. In an embroidery business, that can show up as:
- Last-minute “emergency” orders
- Endless design revisions
- Messages arriving late at night or on weekends
- Pressure to rush production or discount pricing
Boundaries allow me to serve my customers better, not less.
Policies for 2026
As I move into 2026, I want to take a moment to share a few important policies that help keep Deb’s Little Bits running smoothly and allow me to continue creating the quality embroidery you know and love.
I truly value every order and every customer who trusts me with their special pieces. Clear policies allow me to manage my time, stay organized, and give each project the care and attention it deserves.
Turnaround Time
All orders are completed within the stated turnaround time at the time of purchase. If you need an item sooner, rush orders may be available for an additional fee and are accepted only when my schedule allows.
Custom Orders & Design Approval
Custom embroidery includes a set number of design revisions. Once a design is approved, changes may result in additional fees. I always recommend reviewing proofs carefully before giving final approval.
Payment Policy
Payment is required before work begins on all orders. This ensures materials can be purchased and your spot in my production schedule is secured. Orders will be coordinated through the debslittlebits.com website for 2026
Cancellations & Changes
Because embroidery is customized specifically for you, cancellations or major changes may not be possible once stitching has begun.
Communication Hours
I respond to messages during regular business hours. While I may occasionally reply outside those times, I appreciate your understanding as I balance business, family, and creative time.
These policies are not meant to be restrictive—they are in place so I can continue offering thoughtful, high-quality embroidery while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and trust. I’m so grateful for each of you and look forward to creating many beautiful pieces together in 2026.
With appreciation,
Deb
